Your graphics were fantastic. Your characters were drawn well and stylistically. Blocks Brat was just fun to look at. However, I thought it took too long to get to the punch. Consider that, the second time Blocks Brat gets her stuff knocked down, we've seen the exact thing play out once already. We know what's going to happen. Having this happen a second time is crucial, however, so what I'd recommend is just having the second time play out faster. The timing on the final part, though, was great. Just enough time for him to realize what's going on.
Very funny idea. However, I wish you'd done more with the sprites. Just making them do the same motion over and over again is limiting yourself. Funny ending, I might add.
Now that's funny. My only complaint is things moved just a bit too quickly, but I guess that's part of it. Anyway, this goes on my coveted list of favorites, and it is the only movie of its type to ever do so. That is, a movie not featuring great animation and direction. Funkenstein's random humor is awesome, and I highly recommend collaborating with some equally skilled flash artist to produce some high-quality movies.
I remember seeing the preview for this, and thinking, "Ho hum, another 'series' some Flash upstart is advertising that will never actually materialize.' Well, I am glad to see that I was wrong. I hope Demon Tales is here to stay.
Your characters all have distint personalities, they're well drawn, and the animation is smooth. Your jokes are all well-delivered, and the pacing was good. Its too bad the third guy couldn't have more of a part. Looking forward to Demon Tales 2.
Each individually.
ZekeySpaceLizard, yours was short, simple, and sweet. What animation you did have was decent. Throwing Bill Cosby in there was hilarious. It's too bad we couldn't have seen more background, though.
PenisStar, the 3D Flash was good, and your build up to something epic, which was most definitely not, was pretty good. However, I felt that Bush's 'part' went on a bit too long.
TrickyClock, whoa. You obviously just wanted to shock and annoy, and you achieved that.
RoyMaster, your animation needed work, but your plot was very funny. Things weren't really explained, but I guess you didn't need to. Your pacing was good, too.
It was fairly funny, but what I think one of the previous reviewers meant by consequences of actions is one of my complaints as well, that is, things that happened seem to have no bearing on what happened next. For instance, *spoiler if you haven't watched it*, Samus died. Samus turns into a ghost. This seems to in no way affect the rest of the movie. Ridley even appears to kill Samus with a special attack, which you'd think would have no bearing, being Samus is dead. It was a good movie, though, so I hope in your next Flash you try to make things more flowing (a causes b causes c)
It wasn´t meant to be very realistic and I didn´t think the storyline would have big importance in a movie like this, but don´t worry. My next is gonna be better.
Not often do I watch a flash and actually laugh out loud. That was pretty good. Your animation was solid, as well. My only complaint was the length, and I suppose you were just going for a quickie Flash. Pretty funny.
This was good. What it needed, however, was more excitement and more coherency. Now, by excitement, I don't necessarily mean he had to kill some body. I just mean the pace needed to be kept up. Somtimes, ie right after he got out of class, he just walked too long. That would be alright, were there more scenery or something happening to keep the eye busy. And near the end, you started playing with black backgrounds. Though it was cool to see him on a black background, he sudden cuts and the weird thing going on between school and home didn't make much sense.
I do want to mention that you have successfully dredged up the crappiness of high school, so good job.
Yeah, sorry, this was back when I didnt really know flash cartoons as a medium that well. I was much more of a comics guy then. It is tough to jump from doing dialog driven stories to a story(with a character with a background in comics already) into a cartoon. Plus I didn't plan it out.
Your drawing is especially good. The outside scenes looked very nice, as did the character. However, I thought things moved slow, and I know the buildup to the Flash's joke is key, but perhaps that could have been achieved with more scenes, rather than by dragging out the ones you had. Still, I liked it.
Thank you,It really is great to get this kind of feed back. I will work on the "speed" of the flash for the next one. I was trying to keep things "Calm and slow" but, I can see where I could have done more scenes and got the same thing better.
To have a large plot in your head and to work on the whole thing as one big production seems to be a lot to ask of Flash artists. What was good about this was the action, where you seem to have promise. The plot was advanced by quick disappearing text, and I need to strongly suggest some voice acting or atleast word balloons to polish your text. Also, let more happen in your movies. I'm not necessarily saying make them unnaturally long. I mean make the most of the Flash's time. Good luck on the rest of the series.
